1. Is there any dress code to appear in JEE (Advanced)?
Ans. Ans. Do not wear unnecessary things such as rings, chains, bangles, ear-rings or a modern watch.
A simple analogue watch is permitted so that you can have the estimate of time.
2. What care I need to take for providing finger prints to appear in JEE (Advanced)?
Ans. Ans. This is best done if your hands are clean and you have not used any oil/ cream.
3. Am I required to provide finger prints to appear in JEE (Advanced)?
Ans. Ans. Yes, an important part of the pre-exam procedure is taking a fingerprint of your index finger.
Remember the same fingerprint is used when you come for the seat acceptance after qualifying in the examination.
4. If I am absent in one of the papers, will my result be declared?
Ans. Ans. You will be considered absent from the examination and will be disqualified to receive the result. It is compulsory for you to appear in both the papers.
5. When should I reach my examination center to appear in JEE (Advanced) ?
Ans. Ans. Try to reach your examination center well in advance. It is best to familiarize yourself with the venue a day before to avoid the unnecessary stress on the day of the exam.
6. During examination can I modify my answers bubbled on ORS?
Ans. Ans. No. Since the bubbling on ORS is done using only black ball point pen, candidates cannot modify the answers once bubbled.
7. I am a defense service (DS) personnel. Can my child get a seat under DS category?
Ans. Ans. Not all defense service personnel' children are eligible for DS category seats. DS category seats are earmarked for children of defense/paramilitary personnel killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations.
8. I am appearing in class XII exam first time in 2022. If I do not write JEE (ADV) 2022, am I eligible for JEE (ADV) in 2023 and 2024?
Ans. Ans. As per rules on date, you can appear in 2022 and 2023, but not in 2024. Please refer to point 10 (criterion 4) of Information Brochure.
9. I have taken admission into one of the NITs. Am I eligible for JEE (Advanced) ?
Ans. Ans. Yes. The candidates who have taken admissions in NITs are also eligible for appearing in JEE (Advanced) , if they satisfy all other eligibility criteria given in the information brochure.
10. Writing Paper-1 and Paper-2 in JEE (Advanced) compulsory?
Ans. Ans. Yes, it is compulsory. If a candidate is absent in one of the papers, then the candidate will be considered as absent from the examination.
11. What is my login id to apply for JEE (Advanced)?
Ans. If you have accepted seat in IITs then you are NOT eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2017. Please refer to point 10 (criterion 5) of Information Brochure.
12. I have taken admission in one of the IITs for preparatory course. Am I eligible for JEE (Advanced)
Ans. Yes. You are eligible for JEE (Advanced) subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria.
